At Hutchison Ports we recognise the value of having a diverse and inclusive workforce that reflects the community we are based and the clients we serve.

Our colleagues are a key pillar to our business, and we understand the need to continuously move our culture forward in an ever-evolving world. Our business strategy is aligned to the UN 12 Sustainable Development Goals – covering the principles of reduced inequalities and good health and wellbeing. London Thamesport is committed to creating an inclusive culture and has priorities in 4 key areas:

Gender

Inclusive employer of women

Our colleague networks and working parties align to the above pillars and represent the views and needs of the represented group to the business. The networks work to raise awareness, celebrate difference, and support colleagues across the business.

It is widely known that Maritime has traditionally been a male dominated industry. Hutchison Ports actively strives to be recognised as an inclusive employer of woman. We know our female representation is less balanced than we would like, however, we have a strong plan for attracting, developing and retaining woman in a variety of roles.

London Thamesport received a Gold Award from Medway Council for efforts towards enhancing employee wellbeing in 2023.
